In short
This policy covers the carcurious.org website and the CarCurious app for Android and iOS. Both are a free educational project with no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no cookies. We do not collect, sell or share personal data.
The app
All content is built into the app, and it works fully offline: it does not connect to the internet and sends nothing to us or to anyone else. On Android it does not even request internet access.
Your settings — language, theme and the glossary language — are stored only on your device and are deleted together with the app.
The “Share CarCurious” button opens your phone's standard share menu. What you share and with whom is up to you; the app does not see it. The app is installed through Google Play or the App Store, which process data under their own privacy policies.
The website
The site uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Your choice of theme, language and glossary language is remembered in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, such as IP addresses and browser type. We do not use this data to identify visitors.
Tips
The “Say thanks” button on the website opens a payment page run by Stripe. Stripe processes the payment under its own privacy policy; we receive only the payment record — the amount and the details you enter there, such as your email — and never your card number.
If you write to us, we receive your email address and your message and use them only to reply. We do not add anyone to mailing lists.
Children
CarCurious collects no personal data from anyone, children included.
Your data
The only personal data we may hold is your email address if you wrote to us, and the payment record if you sent a tip. Write to us and we will tell you what we have, or delete it unless the law requires us to keep it.
Changes
If anything here changes — for example, if the app gets tips through the app stores — we will update this page and the date at the top.
